Graduate from a school of professional registered nursing. BSN preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. Current certification in basic CPR. Minimum of 1 year acute care (hospital) RN experience; NICU experience preferred. Neonatal Resuscitation Certification required within first three months after date of hire. Hepatitis B immunization is highly recommended.

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all patients within an assigned area. Applies the nursing process in providing care. Demonstrates skills in the following areas including but not limited to: advanced newborn assessment, neonatal resuscitation, transitioning a newborn from intra to extra uterine life, safe utilization of medications, respiratory management of the pre term infant to include ventilatory support and nasal CPAP, transportation of the sick neonate, newborn hearing screening and transcutaneous bilirubin screening. Capable of working independently.

Good written, verbal, and communication skills in the English language. Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with the public, patients, physicians, and co-workers. Ability to remain flexible and positive within a rapidly changing patient care environment. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing care for patients in the following age group: Neonatal.

 Additional Information

Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation may be required.
