Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing. BSN preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. Current AHA or equivalent certification in CPR. One year acute care experience recommended. One year Emergency Department experience preferred. BLS and ACLS required. PALS and/or ENPC are required within 6 months of hire. Must complete Basic Arrhythmia class and successfully pass the telemetry test within 6 months of hire and renew annually. CEN certification is recommended. Completion of Emergency Nursing and Triage course is preferred. MICN certification is preferred. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all patients in an assigned area. Applies the nursing process in providing care; can perform basic nursing functions. Demonstrates skills in the areas including but not limited to: arrhythmia interpretation, invasive monitoring, advanced patient assessment, safe utilization of medications, advanced airway management and ventilator care. Capable of working independently. Good written, verbal and electronic communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with the public, patients, physicians, and co-workers. Ability to remain flexible and positive within a rapidly changing patient care environment. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing care for patients in the following age groups: neonate through geriatric. |
